Wellesley, MA — The second Managed Healthcare Executive Special Report “The Top 25 Executives in Disease Management,” published in September 2008, was somewhat different from the first, published in December 2004, except for one key similarity: In both cases, DMPC President Al Lewis was named the top executive in the field. While the 2004 report cited his invention of several key concepts widely adopted in the industry — such as outsourcing, guaranteeing and the traditional “trended pre-post” measurement system — the 2008 report focused on his event rate methodology being licensed by 28 payors and the popularity and credibility of the DMPC Certifications for Savings Measurement and Critical Outcomes Report Analysis.

The Special Report also used DMPC Savings Measurement Certification as a primary selection criterion for payer executives. Of the twelve health plan and employer executives in the Top 25, eleven had earned DMPC Savings Measurement Certification for their health plans.
